Poop in the Potty!

Daddy helped Leo call from Albuquerque, NM yesterday afternoon to tell me (quite unintelligibly!) that he pooped in the potty for the very first time--Yay Leo! As those of you that have potty-trained a kid knows (or those of you dreading it, like me), this is a BIG deal!

Leo was sooo cute on the phone; even though it was hard to understand him, he got his message across by enthusiasm alone. I gotta say, it won't break my heart if he comes home from this trip with daddy completely potty-trained. Are you reading this, Michael???

I'm not creeped out at all. I think it's so awesome you are becoming a nurse/midwife. How long does it take to become a midwife? I have heard 4 years. Yeah, I'm so excited. Have you ever read the book "Ina Mays Guide to Childbirth"? I loved it, and it was cool to read parts of it to Dan, my husband. He has become a believer which is really cool with him being a doctor. It's funny cause his parents think we are crazy to use a midwife. I love it. My parents think it's great. Anyway, my sister used the Bradley method with her two boys, and will with her third and she has had awesome births. Anyway, I appreciate your message. Seriously, I can talk about birth all day long, I just can't wait till I actually go through it. I have been really considering becoming a doula and a hypnobabies instructor. Anyway, I have been doing research on the pros and cons of doing the antibiotics and would love to get your opinion on that. I have read some articles about it that have made me consider the possibility of refusing the treatment. I was glad to find out that I don't have to be hooked up the whole time which is great, but I am concerned about the possible side effects of the antibiotics, and it seems that they really haven't decreased the cases of strep B in babies by much. Would love your insight into this. Also, have you seen "The Business of Being Born"? I'm pretty sure you have, but if not it is great. I loved it. I could watch it over and over again. OK, I'm rambling now.

Take care,

Bri.

P.S. I love your sister. She is so great.

I can still appreciate the magnitude of this. Super great! I'm hoping your wish comes true and he'll come home "done". This has been fun having a little peek into your life! Thanks!
